Gurugram’s own Metro soon: Huda City Centre-Cyber City line work set to begin this year – list of stations

Construction of Gurugram’s own Metro line to begin this year

Gurugram is finally set to get its very own much-awaited metro train services with the construction of the Huda City Centre-Old Gurgaon-Cyber City Metro line likely to start this year. There are high hopes that the Gurugram Metro project construction work will commence in fiscal year 2023-24, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said
during the state budget presentation.
The Metro project for Gurgaon has already been approved by the Central government’s Public Investment Board and is now awaiting the nod of the Union Cabinet for the Rs 6,400 crore project.

This Huda City Centre to Cyber City Metro via Subash Chowk , Krishna Chowk and Sector 22 will be named the ‘Yellow’ Line, in sync with the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line that ends at Huda City Centre in Gurugram. The Gurugram Metro line from Huda City Centre to Old Gurgaon and then to Cyber City will be 28.5 kms long and will have as many as 27 stations including one interchange station. Khattar added that work on three more Metro links in Gurugram may also start this fiscal.“I am happy to state that the long-pending Gurugram Metro project has been approved by the Public Investment Board of the Central government and once the Union cabinet gives the final approval,
construction work of the Metro will commence in 2023-24,” the chief minister said.

List of stations on Gurgaon Metro
The Gurugram Metro DPR (detailed project report) stated that the metro’s route will have the following stations-
HUDA City Centre, Sector 45, Cyber Park, District Shopping Centre, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai Village, Sector 9, Sector 7, Sector
4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, Udyog Vihar Phase 5, Cyber City, and Sector 101 (Elevated Spur to Dwarka Expressway).
Presently, Gurugram has only 17 km of metro line – the 5.3 km stretch of Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line and the 11.7 km Rapid Metro . No metro service have been expanded here since 2017, when the second section of the Rapid Metro on Golf Course Road (6.8km) was opened to commuters. Rapid Metro, though now operated by the government through DMRC, was privately built.
Before this, the last corridor to be constructed was the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line up to Huda City Centre in 2010.
