New Delhi: The government said on Saturday that foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country more than doubled to $17.57 billion in the quarter to June from $6.56 billion in the ye-ar-ago period.
Total FDI inflow rose to $22.53 billion during the first quarter of this financial year against $11.84 billion a year ago, the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement. Total FDI comprises equity in-flows, reinvested earnings and other capital. “FDI equity inflow grew by 168% in the first three months of 2021-22 ($17.57 billion) compared to the year ago period ($6.56 billion),” said the ministry.
